Yes, yes, yes. I know we talk about the wind here a great deal. I supposed that’s because it is a big deal. Today we actually had wind warnings through 8 p.m. Our top speed in the last hour was 50 mph. The thing is, with that type of wind – it gets really difficult to do anything outside. Sue was hoping to get a head start on the weed whacking today, but the winds were blowing her over! The chickens have gotten somewhat used to the winds, and go outside to eat and drink, but they are also content to stay indoors. Did you hear about the warnings going out a few weeks ago back east? The Meteorologists were cautioning people to not leave their small dogs outside because there was a chance they could get blown away! If a small dog can get blown away, just think what could happen to a chicken. Well – we’ve not yet lost any bird nor beast to the wind.
I think it’s going to be a pretty short post, since we just wrote yesterday. This weekend’s activities depend completely upon the weather. Tonight we’re expecting exceedingly low temps, so the garden will get covered up, yet again. We were thinking of trying to put the Best Nest Box back into the RCW tomorrow (it fell off the inside wall when the RCW tipped over in the winds – needs some fixin’ up, but is overall still usable)… we might be able to do that, even in the wind. Certainly won’t be attempting to move the RCW or do any fencing tomorrow; maybe its a good day for taxes and paperwork. We will need to take eggs to Bisbee. It’ll have a nice delivery for Tom the Baker. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine! We’re itching for some visitors, folks. Did you see the link to the Cochise County Tourism sight on our Facebook page? Check it out and plan a visit. (John, Bernadette, Dinah, Ralph, Kay….. the list goes on.) There are some really great things to do in our neck of the woods. and maybe we’ll treat you to a farm to table meal. 🙂 Just give us a heads up! Easter’s coming – you could join us. We’ll be waiting to hear from you. Until then, as always~
Thanks for reading!
