You may have heard. we had some snow. Started on Sunday afternoon. Slacked off over night and then started again with renewed vigor Monday afternoon. At one point, we contemplated changing Rhiann’s flight home because I wasn’t sure we’d make it out in the snow. Turns out that it was a good thing we did not. Tuesday we were socked in.

If you are invited to a chicken farm, my recommendation is that you should expect to see chickens. Believe it or not, most chicken farms do have chickens, so on arrival, I am not surprised to see chickens bobbing around in at least four separate enclosures. The wind kicks up as I step out of the car and make my way inside, waving to Sue, who is in the middle of corralling the birds into one of their several chicken houses.

As I mentioned, we have had some interesting sightings over the past week. The one on the left here, (not my photo, but taken here in Hereford) was from yesterday evening. Lenticular clouds are always so cool looking. What’s a Lenticular cloud? “(Latin: Lenticularis lentil-shaped, from lenticula lentil) are stationary clouds that form mostly in the troposphere, typically in perpendicular alignment to the wind direction. They are often comparable in appearance to a lens or saucer.” Our other sightings were fauna.

When you walk onto the porch in the afternoon and the resident road runner is sheltering under the patio table, you might have a coyote problem. My first exposure to coyotes and road runners may be similar to yours: Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. You can see them here as they appeared in the “To Beep or Not to Beep” episode from the Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies shorts (created by Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese). Every time I see our Road Runner, the theme song goes through my head… and it will for you now too!
