Ok, so we’re beginning to recover. At least we think we are. The thing is, we didn’t do anything all weekend, so there’s not a whole lot to report. In Sue’s farm journal entry for yesterday, along with the egg report, it just says “windy all day”. Which it was, but we didn’t do much of anything — again. But our chickens have been busy!

IMG_2461We been reporting that the numbers are getting bigger and bigger, and it continues to hold true. We’ve outgrown the daily egg tally bin that Dad made us. Just look at it! It’s full and we haven’t even gotten to Tuesday. Thing is completely full! What are we going to do, Dad?  Sue’s wondering if we could put extenders on the dividers that would allow us to stack the eggs. What do you think?  I can no longer use my egg apron to collect eggs as it only holds 10. WeIMG_2462 saw this nifty egg bag at Tractor Supply that someone could get us for Easter! It’ll hold about 40 eggs, maybe 50. Which is what we’ll need pretty soon. Here’s the weekend egg report:
Saturday: 24 chicken eggs, 1 duck egg and 1 dove egg.
Sunday: 37 chicken eggs, 1 duck egg and 1 goose egg.
Monday: 36 chicken eggs, 1 duck egg.
The layers have really started going to town. We’ve been getting 16-18 eggs a day from them, and they haven’t all started laying yet.  Sunday we had 5 banty eggs, so I think we may only have one hold out, but they don’t always lay every day, so everyone could be accounted for. If you need eggs – just let us know! We’re saving some small ones for the kids to dye for Easter, if you’d like to pre-order those we’ll do our best on a first come, first served basis. It’ll be cute! Let us know. Until then, as always~
Thanks for reading.

Today’s Weather: Warm. Finally wind died down. I think it was a perfect day. High was 75°, looks like the low will be 37°. Right now, at 6:49 it’s 60°.  No rain on the horizon.

Egg Report: See above.
